The Canada-China Friendship Society of Ottawa (CCFS-O) is an independent, non-political, membership organization, founded in 1976. It is run by volunteers and has over 250 members. The CCFS-O is dedicated to helping Canadians become better informed about China–its past, its current achievements and challenges, and what the future may hold.
Our main activity is holding monthly public meetings featuring speakers on a wide variety of topics. The presentation is followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments are served at the end of the evening, allowing for individual discussions and socializing. Monthly speaker presentations are free for members.
The CCFS-O hosts an annual Chinese New Year’s Banquet and sends delegates to conferences/tours in China at the invitation of the Chinese government. The CCFS-O occasionally receives friendship delegations from China. The CCFS-O is a member of the Federation of Canada-China Friendship Associations.
