February 10, 2008. Year of the Rat Banquet  at the Mandarin Ogilvie Restaurant; with remarks by Ambassador Lu Shumin, Senator Mac Harb, Pierre Poilievre M.P., City of Gatineau Councillor Juan da Silva, and featuring gu-zheng music by Vicky Ye and Sandy Yip, and CCFS talents Dominic Darcy and Georges Sapounidis; doorprizes were generously donated by the Chinese Embassy, Canada Post, the McGarry Family, and the Mandarin Ogilvie Restaurant.

November 6-16, 2008, An eleven-member Federation delegation drawn from five Canadian chapters visited China at the invitation of their host, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship With Foreign Countries. The delegation attended the two-day Chinese Friendship Cities Conference in Beijing and later participated in CPAFFC’s Third Biennial Friendship Forum in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province. During a two-day visit in Shanghai they were hosted by the Shanghai People’s Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries. Article by Peter Larson
